Hello All,
Well, the weather won today and our trip to the park was a no go. Lots of water coming down from the sky!
So - we all ended up at the Pizza place for lunch and chatting.
A total of 12 folks managed to make it even with the nasty conditions outside.

Here is the list of folks.

Myself - Dar W9HZC
Ray - N5SEZ
Joe - K0NEB
Steve - WB0QQP
Claudia - K1AUD
Arnie - KA0NCR
Brian - KM0Y
Darrel - K0AWB
Bruce - KB0KA
Gene - KB0OVK
Kurt - WB0AEA
Paul - N0WQK

Nice showing. The new guy, N0WQK, is new to our group but not to Ham radio. He is a professor at Iowa Western College just east across the river in Iowa. Paul teaches all kinds of electronics related stuff for the school and dabbles in Robotics too.
The group mostly stayed around until just after 3PM all chatting about current projects, future projects and pumping Paul for Ideas. Several members of the group commented as we all headed for our cars that this had been one of the most interesting meeting we have had.
The great thing is that Paul lives there in Ashland so will not be able to 'claim' it was too far to drive to get to a meeting :)
No one had any progress to report on with respect to the Loop building project. Mostly folks are gathering the needed parts, still!

The normal July meeting will occur on the same Saturday weekend as LobsterCon on the East coast and SalmonCon on the West coast
So -- we will set up several QRP stations in the Park and operate in an effort to contact both Coasts. We will refer to our July operating event as either 1 D I J (One Day In July) or CobCon ( you know, like Corn Cob!~!).
Plan is to be on the air from 11:00 CDT to 17:00 CDT (or later). Make sure to give us a call if you can hear us!

and.. Paul, we expect this to be the beginning of a long new friendship.

73's all
