[HBQRP] Meeting turn out..

Just wanted to say that we had a great turn out today.  Several new people showed up,and I think a good time was had by all!
Not a lot of building went on today, but several discussions on projects and plans for things to come later in the year were going on. Joe was busy building a kit.   I would have liked to do some building, but...I was running low on sleep, and almost decided not to go.  We will see how smart this decision to go was at 4 AM Sunday morning when I leave work to head home!   
I had a good time, got to see some interesting keys, kits, and some of the old "Ham Hum" news letters from the Aksarben ARC from way back in the 50's (I think)..  Also a few schematics from QST on a simple 2 watt TTL chip transmitter.  Talk was going on abouthow to make this into a simple TX/RX with the addition of a mixer of some kind (ne'602) and a few more parts.   Will be interesting to see what comes of this!
KM0Y brought some RG-8x co-ax cable for the antenna, but due to cold temps, no one went up on the roof.  Maybe it will happen at the Febr or March meeting if wx agrees! 

Several of us from the HBQRP group talked about meeting at the next Omaha chapter of QCWA lunch/meeting... Several people have items for other members and that seems like a good place to meet and swap items and stories.   Its the 4th Thursday of the month at the Old Country Buffet in Omaha.
