Hello All, Darwin-ski here.
===
First item - Next meeting is Aug 11th. Same time same place (see the website - www://hbqrp.org )
===
Next item - Raspberry PI - This device shows tons of promise related to our hobby and to regular commercial stuff. I'm waiting for the rush to subside and then I'll order a couple to play with. Haven’t noticed anything about it on the Make Magazine site yet.
I did get an e-mail from TI and seems they also have a new little processor like item that fits in with this area two.
I'll look it up and report on it in a day or two.
===
I will bring a little QRP rig to the Aug meeting and after meeting will try to stop by the Ashland park to do a little operating and contact the 4 State group. May even try to stop at the flea before the Ashland meeting.
I'm hoping we might even get the G5RV up on the roof of the Pizza place this month too!
===
I've been a little out of commission this summer. Seems my pain in the butt I've been suffering from has been caused by a Herniated disc and am getting that worked on to clear it up. Little hard to walk without pain when your spine isn't exactly straight!
===
I will also be looking to check in to the local 6 meter and 2 meter SSB nets. 6 meters is on Tuesday at 8PM local on 50.200 USB. I'm still trying to find info on 2 meters. I do know that 144.200 is where the CW folks hang out. Any information any of you have on these nets, yell, 6 meters is as much fun as 10 meters.
===
here is link to TI and Make Magazine joint effort. Comments? This is cool stuff.

73's to all and see you in a couple weeks.
