I’m not sure if anyone has time to run , K6JSS/0 the week of November 28
through December 4
? But as you can see from below, QRP-ARCI is getting
desperate looking for someone.

Hello Rod,

Thanks for your email. At this time, I cannot participate, however, I
passed your email along to a friend who is a member of the local QRP group
to see if anyone there might be interested.

You may also want to send the information to the ARRL Section Manager for
Nebraska, Art Zygielbaum, KØAIZ, who can forward it out to the ARRL
membership in Nebraska via the ARRL Members Only mailing list. His email
address is <mailto:k0aiz at arrl.org> k0aiz at arrl.org.

Thanks and 73

de Bill, K9RZ

Howdy Bill:

Coming from the old school of dx chasing since back in the 50s when the key
to success was listen, listen, listen, I happened to tune across you on 40 m
earlier this a.m. and heard you give your QTH as NE.

Skipping over the nitty gritty details, the QRP Amateur Radio Club
International is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Well, rather
than my trying to give you the details, here’s the scoop

The year 2011 will mark QRP ARCI's fiftieth or Golden Anniversary. In 1961,
we started out as a 100 watt club interested in reducing QRM, and have
transitioned into a group of operators, hikers, builders/experimenters, and
contesters that pursue this great activity at five watts or less.

One way the club will mark this anniversary is to activate the club call in
all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia throughout 2011. A
QRP ARCI member/volunteer will be assigned one week during the year in which
they can use the club call, K6JSS from their location. We encourage them to
operate with K6JSS with as many modes and as often as possible during their
assigned week. A special Worked All States certificate will be issued to all
that qualify.

The club needs volunteers to make this happen. We need one member/volunteer
from each state, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. The member will
agree to operate using K6JSS during their assigned week. John Burnley, NU0V
has volunteered to coordinate this effort for the club. He will work with
volunteers to assign a week for their area and insure that the club trustee
is notified. If you wish to volunteer, send an email to John at
nu0v at arrl.net This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need
Javascript enabled to view it . He needs your call and location plus any
weeks during 2011 that are not good for you.

I hope to see all 50 states plus Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia on
the air during 2011.

My reason for this email is to tell you that no one from NE has volunteered
to sign K6JSS/0. The only week that’s still open before the end of 2011 is
November 28 through December 4. Would you possibly be willing to spend some
time on the bands that week signing K6JSS/0 and running 5 watts? I can
guarantee you’ll be a popular guy! ;-) If you’re unable to pitch in that
week, do you happen to know of any other NE cw ops that’d be willing to put
NE on the bands?

Please let me know if you’d consider doing this and I’ll pass the word to
W4DU and W4QO who are running the Jubilee Celebration.

Thanks so much, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours

73,

Rod
