Most of you are up to date (if you read my e-mails) on our little Ten
Meter HT project. I picked up a couple of little HT kits from a vender
on the web that was designed for 27MHz AM. My thought was they were
'simple' enough we might be able to swap the 27MHz crystal for a 29MHz
crystal, do some tuning and have a lo-power AM rig to play with. I am
building mine and almost done. I will first make it work on 27 then swap
the crystal and re-tune and see what happens. If all is well, I will
post all the information on the kit, the case, and the Xtal so the rest
of you can play. :-) The 'total' cost will be right around $20 to $25
for each.

And = Speaking of 10.

I always carry my RS 10 meter rig in the car, always. Mostly I listen
on 29.6 FM, and last night on my 20 minute drive home I listened to a
KB7?? Station (in Washington state) talking to a ham in Des Monies and
one guy in Texas. I called during a break between stations, he heard me
but did not get all my call then noise level took all three of them out,
bummer.
If you live around this area, listen in the morning just before 0800 and
the in the evening just after 5. or, hey, don't just listen, talk, call
CQ you never know who will pop up :-)
73's gang!
