Hello All from Waterloo NY.
LobsterCon was a blast but not much chance to operate. It stated raining right after breakfast on satruday morning and continued until sunday morning. I had the K1 all set up then Uncle Cy put it away while I was watching the satilite attemp, whicn worked. Wow, that was cool'
On Friday night, Cy had a 'gig' and was going to a small town about an hour away, so i went with him.
He plays Base on a 4 man 50's and 60' rock and rool group and they were great. we got back to camp at about 3am. But - darn, that old man can play. highlight of my trip. Well almost.
after all the prizes were given out and I was left sitting there with my lonely little ticked that did not win, Rex remembered one more door prize and went and got it. I had already torn my ticket and was getting close to the trash when they read the number. Hey!, that's my ticket. I got a kit designed by Mr. Steve Webber, it is a CW/PSK reader (all SMT) and Mr. Steve Webber himself handed it to me and explained what it was. cool! cool!. Made me laugh because he was a little worried if the SMT would cause issue. I explained we had an SMT expert and he had tought us all how to do it with ease. He was delighted and wanted a progress report.. Nice!
we have until Monday the 19th to git home, will visit the "Falls" tomorrow then sort of head towards home. I have loads of pictures of LobsterCon and of the Old Guys rock band :)
73's
See you all soon.
Dar...

The July 10 meeting set a new attendance record: three people. Even the guy up at the front counter wondered where the rest of the gang was. Jim KG0RD plugged in his soldering iron and worked on his 30M transmitter kit, while Darrel K0AWB and I watched. Darrel gave an informative report on old time radio shows and their availability online. We made no plans for a program at the August 14 meeting, though I hope Darwin gives us a LobsterCon report.
