Hi Patrick!
Welcome to the HBQRP group!
There will be a couple of the HBQRP group at FDIM again this year. Myself, Jim - KG0RD, Darrel K0AWB and Joe K0NEB.
I am not sure how much time Joe will have at FDIM, but I think the rest of us aregoing to be staying at the hotel FDIM takes place in.
At the Hamvention I'll be helping out with the BMHA bike ride on Saturday afternoon and the forum on Sunday. If nothing un-forseen comes up, I am planning to be doing some bike riding up in "your neck of the woods".. Well, anyway close.. :) my friend Mike, NF0N and myself are planning on riding across Idaho and into Washington in the early part of July this year. We will have some HF gear on our bikes, so who knows, you might hear us!
If I can remember, I'll post more about it as we get closer to the time.
If you will be in the FDIM hotel on Thursday, there are a couple of us who are planning a "raid" on the Mendelsons store in down town Dayton after lunch.
I know that there are some seminars going on at that time, but the main one I want to see is the QRSS talk with Hans Sommers which is in the morning. IF you want to go over to the store and wander around for a few hours, let me know and we can meet up and ride over in my van. IF you have never been to the store, you are in for a builders junk box paradise.
Check out the web site at ... http://www.meci.com/
Also a picture of one of the buildings is on this page, to give you an idea of the size of this place... http://www.meci.com/index.php/about_us
The picture on the left hand is just one of the floors of the building at the top, and there is one whole floor for electronics parts of all kinds.
Hope to see you at FDIM!
