Interesting indeed. They're using a 74HC04 hex inverter as an
oscillator and buffer -- which will give you a nice square wave. I have
seen this idea before, there was a little Fire-something transmitter a
few years back that used the same idea. Looks like they follow that up
with a LPF and a 500mW RF PA. Neat idea.
