Yup, got to agree with Walt on the bringing back memories. 73 was one of the
first magazines I subscribed to when I became a ham back in '75. I too used
to have the Timex/Sinclair membrane keyboard computer and load the programs
from a cassette recorder with an old black and white tv we had. Along came
the VIC 20 computer, then the Commodore 64 computer with "Q Link" (the old
AOL) for $5 a month for 20 hours if I remember right. Thought I was a big
cheese back then getting on the internet in those days. Used to get PMS
(Pretty Mad Sometimes) when the old 64 would lock up in the middle of
something and then lose all the info you had typed in from a program in 73
magazine. Ha ! Anyone else have that problem ??? Oh, and I think I wound up
going thru 3 power supplies that would burn out too. I was in Air Force MARS
back then and used it also hooked up to an HF radio to download the weekly
MARS broadcast from St. Louis (Scott AFB). Sometimes it took many tries
before finally getting the whole thing. Lets not forget the tractor feed
printers and all the ink ribbons we used to buy too.

As for Wayne Green I'd say he was thinking outside the box way back then but
still I enjoyed some of his wild thoughts.

Should I say that was the good 'ol days ???? I leave that up to you ! !

Steve/WB0QQT....................thanks Dar !
