What do you think about doing NorCal's new S9 Signal Generator for

NorCal has another kit, the S9 Signal Generator.  This is an inexpensive
piece of test equipment that works on 4 bands, and gives you a
calibrated
S1 and S9 output that is switch selectable.  It ships with crystals for
80, 40, 30 and 20 meters.  Jim Kortge suggests that you buy 2 of them,
and put IF crystals in one to use it to work with your IF.  The cost of
the
kit is only $30 shipped in the US, $35 shipped DX.  The manual and
