The Tri-Lakes Monument Radio
Association (W0TLM) is proud to announce that registration is
now open for our next ham radio license class.
The class starts on
Saturday Oct 24, at the Woodmoor
Barn in Monument, CO and runs through the
FCC exam session
on Saturday Nov 21st.
Once again, we are offering the Technician and General license
class material simultaneously.
People that are new to ham radio will need to take the
Technician license class, while existing Technicians can upgrade
to General.
Some folks with a technical background may want to pursue both
licenses at the same time but talk with us about it first.
(It doubles the required workload and material to study.)
This class requires ~20 hours of study and is relatively fast
paced. We make heavy use of the
Ham Radio School online
course, which enables student self-study.
The Ham Radio School course includes eBook readings, video
instruction, reviews and quizzes, optional in-depth material,
and practice exams.
The W0TLM team supplements the online course with an
in-person
kick-off session, including on-the-air and radio gear
demonstrations.
We also provide
weekly live review sessions via Zoom, so
students can get help on specific topics and get their questions
answered.
Finally, students will be assigned a
personal "Elmer"
(mentor) to help them through the class.
The cost is $55 ($45 for age under 18).
Take a look at the attached flyer for specific dates, times, and
locations.
