Just a heads up to any of you Technicians that are wondering if the 10
meter band is ever going to come alive.
In recent weeks, we've seen an increase in the number of sunspots (from
zero to 62) and the Solar Flux Index (SFI) is higher than its been in a
long while (116).
See spaceweather.com for the latest data.
During the CQ Worldwide DX Contest (CW) this past weekend, the logs of
Colorado stations revealed that many 10m QSOs were made. Yes, the band
was not as hot as 20m and 15m, but it was open.
We are in the early stages of Solar Cycle 25, so it should trend upward
for several years. See
https://www.amateurradio.com/solar-cycle-25s-fast-progress/
For a quick look if contacts are being made on a band, you can go to
dxmaps.com and select the band of interest.
