Field Day 2019 is almost here. ARRL’s Field Day is always the fourth
full weekend in June. This year, Field Day takes place on June 22-23,
2019. According to the ARRL, during Field Day, more than 40,000 hams in
North America will set up temporary ham radio stations in public places
to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill, and service. It combines an
opportunity to show our hobby’s public service, emergency preparedness,
community outreach, and technical skills.
Our club, W0TLM, will be participating in Field Day 2019. Although Field
Day officially lasts 24 hours or so, we have decided to just have some
fun and to only operate in the afternoon and early evening on Saturday,
June 22^nd . Anyone who is interested in learning about ham radio, who
wants to participate in on-air activities, or who wants to meet with ham
radio operators and club members is welcome to join us. We plan to have
two stations operating at 100 W, one on 20 meters and one on 40 meters.
Everyone will have an opportunity to operate on the air on these ham
bands, regardless of whether you have a license or if you have a license
but it wouldn’t permit you to operate on those frequencies on your own.
We will also have a QRP rig set up as it would be for a SOTA activation
(run by Steve (wG0AT), who will also have slides and other information
about his SOTA activities). If propagation permits, I suspect Steve will
try to make some QRP contacts on SSB and CW.
Here are the details for our Club’s version of Field Day 2019:

will be available at the next club meeting, Monday, June 17, 2019, 7 pm,
at the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce Building, 166 Second Street,
Monument, CO 80132 to answer questions. At the meeting we'd like to know
