Hi,

Once upon a time I had a Hammarlund HQ-145X that I used for a couple of
years until I decided I had too many radios. I know..no such thing as
too many radios. I hauled a pile of stuff to hamfest and the Hammarlund
was one of the radios that did not follow me back home. I regretted it
almost immediately. Last fall I went to a nearby hamfest and found
another one. The guy didn't want a whole lot of money for it but I did
not want to buy *anything* that day. I stopped by late in the day and
chatted with him about the one I used to have. He lowered the price and
I declined. Then he told me he did not want to haul it back home so he
just gave it to me! I could not resist:) I intend to put it in the
lineup in events like the Classic Exchange along with the National HRO,
National SW-3, my RCA RAK-7 and R-23 Q5ers.

The one I used to have was used in NTS traffic nets Navy-Marine Corps
MARS nets. Good, reliable stuff.

This rig needs help on band 2 that includes 160 and 80 meters but I am
confident I can get that up to par. Been there..done that.

Bill  KU8H
