[Hammarlund] SP-600JX14 problem FOUND - capacitor shaft BENT

In trying to move the gears into proper position, I discovered that 
the shaft that drives the main tuning variable capacitor is bent. 
This anomaly caused the stop-pin gear to jump-the-track, hi! And, 
the centering ball was missing. I wonder if this fine radio took a 
fall.

Does anyone out there have a junker SP600 with a good gear and ball 
available? See pix attached and below.
