Hi Norm,

For testing and some use at your home you can couple your signal generator
in where the BFO wants to be injected. You could build a replacement by any
of several methods for use until you can obtain a replacement.

If you are reburbing/rebuilding it to sell for profit that will only help
with testing. Good luck with your project.
