Hammarlund HQ-145A manual:
See Page 3, Figure 4.
NO coaxial antenna connector is installed on HQ-145A manufactured
receivers.
Antenna strip has 3 terminals: A A G
If you use a coax transmission line to connect to the antenna terminal
strip, the center conductor of the coax connects to the far left "A"
terminal/ A jumper connection should be made to the middle"A" terminal
and the "G" terminal. The shield of the coax is connected to these A/G
terminals.
If you review the schematic at the antenna input side of the receiver, it
should be fairly obvious why it's connected this way.
If you use a parallel transmission line, each leg of the transmission
line is connected to each "A" terminal. There should be NO connection
between the middle "A" terminal and the "G" terminal. A ground wire
should be connected to the "G' terminal.
NOTE: This assumes that previous owner(s) didn't screw around with these
terminal connections and modified there use. Since you indicated you have
a coaxial connector on this receiver (which it shouldn't have) you need
to verify the A A G terminal connections to the circuitry.
