[Hammarlund] antenna terminal to coax

hi all

it is nice to see this list waking up again.

I finally found time to get my HQ 145A working again. How do you guys
connect coaxial to your Hammarlund? I built a twin lead to bnc matching
network which works ok. The problem is, It seems like any coax I connect to
it becomes part of the antenna and picks up hiss before I even connect the
outdoor feedline. My HQ 145a also has  PL259, I am not sure if it is a mod
that the original owner installed, but it seems to be not as effective as
the external matching network.
