I'm not sure if this got received by the reflector as I usually get a copy right after I send it.

I have an HQ-180 manual from 1962 and an HQ-180A from 1970 (TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION TEST AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS), the directions from the 1970 one tell me to inject 455 KHz into pin 7 of V2, adjust L4 for max signal and then top and bottom of T3, T4, T5 and then the top of T1, the one from 1962 tells me to inject 3035 KHz the same place and do the same. When I inject 455 I get no signal, when I inject 3035 and adjust for max signal (approx 3035.80) I get signal and everything adjusts. Also the newer one tell me to use both sidebands and the 3 KHZ position, the old one tells me to use L sideband and the 0.5 KHz position. When I use the new manual and inject 3035 and follow the directions the circuit resonates at about 3037, old book directions 3035.80. Any ideas? I am inclined to follow the older manual as at least it seems to work.
