Speaking of filter chokes:
There was a “Fix” published long ago, possibly in Hollow State News, to correct leakage from the filter choke winding to the choke case: you insulate the case from chassis and merrily carry on.
DO NOT DO THIS. It puts full B+ voltage on the case of the choke and invited a later owner (or yourself if you forget what you did) to contact the B+ in a very unsuspected place.
Just beware. If you have a leaky filter choke, find some other way to solve the problem, such as a replacement choke with proper insulation.
Note, it might be possible to un-pot the original choke and properly insulate it by rebuilding, or better yet getting the thing rewound with modern materials.
