[Hammarlund] Age list of HQ-129-X?

Greetings to the list:

On the subject of HQ-129-X receivers, I have one that I acquired in
later years to re-create my novice station of 1963 (HQ-129 and Johnson
Ranger). The 129 I have now works well, but I would really like to find my
original one if it exists. It can be identified by a 4-pin Cinch-Jones
connector that is mounted on the chassis behind the rear-most IF can on the
left side of the receiver, next to the 0C3. This was power for a Heathkit
QF-1 Q-Multiplier. When I had it, it had already been re-capped; the new
caps were white plastic caps similar to the yellow ones we find common
today. It also had Dakaware knobs for the main tuning and band spread.

I would be happy to trade my current 129 plus cash for my original or buy
it out right, assuming it is in equivalent condition to the one I have now.
If it is totally trashed, we can negotiate. Last seen in Santa Barbara,
California, probably in late 1960's or early 1970's.

Thanks,
James K. Thorusen

My first "real" receiver was an HQ-129X (had one of the war surplus
aircraft radios for 80m first). Loved it. Reworked the RF stage with a
circuit that plugged into the tube socket. Sold it when I downsize, but now
have a HQ-140X that I need to use! Boatanchor is an understatement when it
comes to the weight of these receivers---on the other hand all that metal
makes them what they are!
