Greetings to Jim and the List:

If you can get the clock face off without cracking it, then it should be
possible to clean it. If it is just mildew, then the plastic should not be
affected. If it does turn out to be scratched or pitted, it can be
restored with automobile headlight lens restorer and a lot of elbow grease.

If the clock does have moisture in it, leave the cover off and the
receiver in a warm dry place for several days to evaporate any moisture
remaining inside the clock.

Good Luck,
Jim T.

I have a HQ-180A that has been stored in garages for many years. The
clock lens (the clear plastic cover face) is frosted. I'm guessing
it is caused by mildew on the inside. Can it be cleaned, or is a
replacement a better choice, assuming one is still available. I can
still see the face, but it looks bad.
Jim
