Hi Kim!

You might want to post a photo and / or a drawing with dimensions.
Hammarlund was a manufacturer of variable capacitors that were used in many
other manufacturer's products. It is likely that there exists a supply of
capacitors that do not depend on one being salvaged from a junker HQ-170
chassis. However, in order to figure out compatibility, additional
information would be required.

Subject: [Hammarlund] HQ-170 Antenna Trimmer Capacitor

I have an HQ-170 that my Dad (W5JHJ, SK 2007) purchased new in May 1959.
It is the receive half of the first station I ever used as a Novice in
1970 -- the other half is a WRL Globe Champion Model 350.

I'm in need of the 3-25 pF antenna trimmer capacitor. The bushing in the
one that's in there has worn just enough that the side load on the shaft
is enough to pull the rotor plates enough out of alignment to cause them
to short against the stator plates. Does anyone have a spare or a
replacement source?
