[Hammarlund] HQ-110A-VHF for sale

Failing health requires me to sell the HQ-110A-VHF that was part of my 1960s
station for many years. 

This ham-band only receiver was offered from 1965-69 and covers 160, 80, 40,
20, 15, 10, 6 and 2 meters - the later with a built-in nuvistor converter.
This is a double conversion (3035 and 455 kHz Ifs) receiver with an
effective built-in Q-multiplier at the 455 kHz IF. This is like the front of
an HQ-170 VHF, but without the third conversion stage. This was a unique
receiver for its day with its wide frequency coverage and still works well,
including the 24-hour Hammarlund-logo Techron clock. All 12 tubes are
miniature type, except for the 5U4 rectifier, which has been replaced with a
plug-in solid-state rectifier to reduce heat and transformer load. In great
condition and works well. Includes original speaker and manual. $150

I prefer local pick-up (50 mi NE NYC), and you can inspect and try it out
before you decide. Alternately, I can meet you within a reasonable driving
distance, perhaps 75 miles, especially if I don't need to go through NYC. 

If pressed, I will have UPS pack and ship at your expense, but it is pretty
heavy, and will take 2 boxes (one for speaker), with the receiver
double-boxed.
