There are 2 versions of the HQ120X, one has 2 6H6's and one has a 6Z7 and 6F6 in place of the 6H6's. Not sure if it makes any difference with the type of S metre though.

Hello to the list,

Does anyone have a spare or extra S-100 speaker that they're looking to get rid of? I'm looking for one.

Thanks in advance and 73,
Jeramy K5CPU

Gangue,

The on/off section of my selectivity control failed on my HQ110A

It?s R12 on the schematic - 10K with tandem switch S1.
Part # K15378-4

Easy enough to replace or buy online but I need to know if this a linear or
log pot.

I don?t want to remove it until I have a replacement in hand.

Anyone have one to share/sell/trade and or advice?

Tnx de Howie WA3MCK

That is a standard linear pot. The selectivity control is simply a "Q-multiplier" feedback pot.
A log pot there would make it somewhat weird to use, IMHO.

BTW, I have an HQ-110C here to which I am doing some modifications mainly for the fun of
it. I'm adding a mechanical filter, a better AGC, a real product detector, and a few other
tweaks.

Hello,

I have an HQ-120X on the workbench with a damaged S-Meter. I am looking
for a suitable substitute. This S-meter is a Tripplet brand movement
with an Hammarlund scale and logo. The Tripplett model number is unknown.

I apparently have three options. The first, and best, is to locate a
replacement from a junker 120. The second, less desirable, one is to
modify a similar meter to replace the original one. The problem here is
determining the parameters of the Original movement. All I know is that
the original meter has an internal shunt of around 4 Ohms.

The third option is the worst one. This one is to try to rebuild the
original using replacement parts from meters out of my junkbox.

Any suggestions?

Tom
