Ron:
Here's what I used in the 3035 IF cans:

Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors MLCC - Leaded 330pF 630volts C0G 5%
My HQ-180 was in similar shape as you describe. I replaced all of the
mica sheets in the IF cans by drilling out the brass ferrule on the
bottom while the can was gently affixed to a bench vise. If you're
careful, it's not a job to be afraid of -- just be gentle with
everything. I removed the mica sheets, clipped back the metal tabs and
just reassembled the can. I put the new capacitors across the leads on
the bottom of the cans and rewired everything. I was immediately able
to get sharp peaks and it has worked flawlessly for two years now.
Hardest part was getting the cans remounted back on the chassis.
