Hi, David, good question re the HQ210. I'm not sure about that model number, but I do know that the HQ-215 was the last of the line, and is (uniquely) all solid state. I'm glad to (finally) own one, having followed the design history of the HQ line. It has Collins mechanical filters, and is actually compatible with the Collins S-Line. Pretty handsome, too, like it's family before it. You can enjoy searching the I-net about it, as we use the new technology to learn more about the old. As far as your nice wish for Hammarlund's longevity, welcome to the community... we are the custodians. (((73))) Les

Jeff,
Your poem was excellent. I think it's very important to be mindful of
those because of work, or military service are not with family. I got paid
well for being thousands of miles from my family as I was working on
merchant ships.
I just thought the critical rant was inappropriate and off topic.
Has anyone ever seen the shortwave version of the HQ-210 amateur band
receiver? It seems right when that radio was produced, technology changed
from vacuum tubes to transistors.
We lost Hammarlund, Johnson, National and soon Collins at that time.
I would have loved to have Hammarlund survive for 50 years more.
