[Hammarlund] SP-600JX-17 Mounting screw size?

Original Hammarlund factory cabinets had tapped rails that fit behind the front panel of the cabinet. They were 10-32 screws. Depending on whether or not you used washers index the screw heads, 1/2" or 5/8" works. If one was is in the thicker cupped washers. Maybe 3/4". I had a Hammond cabinet with speed nuts that were used and, they too used 10-42 screw

Normal rack screws are 10/32. The two SP600 original cabinets had 10/32
screws in them - the rails were not tapped - had speed nuts over the holes
that were drilled in the rails.

Although I am not too sure of the length, I DO know that standard rack
screws are 12-24 thread. As far as I am concerned, length is not too
important, as long as they are long enough to "reach". I believe that all I
have here are about 1" in length.

I can get some types at the local hardware store, but I believe the original
type was filister-head, and most also included a dress-washer.

Some commercial rack-mounted equipment used a binder-head screw.

But in every case that I have had experience with, the screw SIZE was 12-24.

If I am wrong on this, I am sure someone here will correct me. ;-)
