Just one tip: If I remember correctly, there are 50+ .01 bypass caps in an SP-600. If you check the Mouser site, you can get a pretty good price on a bulk purchase of .01/1kv ceramic discs, which is what the military used to replace the .022 BBODs.

Thank you for that, Joe. I have one SP-600, a JX-1 model, which I have never fired up, 
because I was afraid to.

This will be a big help when I finally dig into it. It appears to be complete, and to have never 
been "messed with".
