I have a Hammarlund HQ 120X and am trying to get it working. .

Problems are:
1. main tuning dial is not turning when the knob is turned.    a. Is the dial drive geared direct shaft drive?    b. Or is the dial friction driven by the rim of the dial?
2. I have plate voltage on the tubes on the left side of the chassis (when facing the front panel) but no plate voltage on the 6V6 audio output tube and those on the right side of the chassis except for the 5V4 rectifier. Somewhere there is an interruption of the supply voltage to the tubes on the right side of the chassis (facing the front panel).
After I recapped the receiver it was working beautifully and very sensitive with lots of audio. I could even copy SSB fairly well. Then a neighboring ham ( a retired professional 2 way radio technician) tinkered and the radio went silent. I politely no longer desired his assistance.
The schematic shows that the plate voltage for the 6V6 is taken off between the two filter chokes, ahead of the VR tube. The VR tube is glowing normally. Somewhere the voltage to the right side of the chassis has been interrupted. Anyone familiar with the HQ 120X who can give some particular points to check and measure for voltage take off for circuits on the right side of the chassis? Thanks, and 73, John, K5PGW
