    Trimming on this one.  Someone mentioned the ratio 1.414, i.e. 
square root of 2 as the ratio of input to output of a full wave 
rectifier.  For a choke input supply the ratio is 1.111. So, taking the 
HX-500 supply as an example the voltage at each rectifier plate is given 
as 895V AC so the output voltage would be 895/1.1111 = about 805 volts 
assuming no losses in the rectifier or choke and a choke of infinite 
inductance.  In a real world circuit the voltage would be lower and will 
also depend on the load. The handbook indicates a plate voltage of 
around 790 volts at the output tube plates, which makes sense from this.
