All the inductors in the SP-600 that can be adjusted have a threaded 
shaft embedded in them with a slotted top. You don't break the ferrite 
but you do either strip the end of the shaft or break the shaft loose 
entirely. I have "a few" replacement SP-600 turret blocks if anybody 
needs them (if you will pay some postage). They will need cleaning and 
BBOD transplants.

Note also that the tuning on the high couple of bands is so twitchy that 
even inserting the tool will throw the alignment off. You have to reach 
in, give it a 1/8 turn, then take the tool out and "rock" the frequency 
around to see if you made it better or worse. Requires a bit of Zen 
patience to complete without throwing the thing across the room.
