The IF gain trim is in a Hammarlund service note that is on the web. The modification also adds a dropping resistor for the dial lamps. Many of these receivers were modified by Northern Radio. The JX-17 has a number of changes from the standard SP-600 for diversity applications. None of these have much effect when used as a stand-alone receiver. A Hammarlund cabinet would have been unusual because most of these receivers were used as a part of a diversity system with two or more receivers and the combiner in a floor rack.
