[Hammarlund] continued saga of the HQ-180

Hi all,
I have been working on my HQ-180 replacing the power supply
electrolytics. I replaced them with individual caps under the chassis to
see if this would fix my possible audio distortion issue. I ran into a
bit of a snag. I had used 3 "new" 47ufd caps and a "used" 68ufd cap
that was from a circuit board from a local electronics place in town.
The guy tested it on a cap tester he had and it tested fine. I completed
the assembly tonight and turned on the receiver. It started out just
fine then quit. The meter went up as usual during startup and then fell
as usual but then it never came backup as to showing signals. No audio
now. The radio does stay on but just no receive noise now. Also, no
smoke or sparks.
Im pretty sure I have it all hooked up as it should be but that is
always the first thing I question. I disconnected the old can cap one
terminal at a time and hooked it to my new electroyltics one at a time.
Im wondering if one of my "new" caps is bad, or the "used" one I
acquired is bad. I have no way of knowing so I decided to start from
square one again. I ordered a new replacement can from Hayseed and am
waiting for its arrival. This will be a much cleaner setup as well.
Im hoping to know if anyone has a 180 that would be easily accessible to
see if the wiring I am listing below matches the wiring on the standard
can electrolytic to see if I am correct in my wiring. I do plan on
tracing each wire as well to make sure, but this will be a very time
consuming ordeal and will probably have to be done anyway. A photo if
possible would be nice as well.

This is what I believe was the original wiring on the stock can cap.
Stupid me for not writing it down or even taking a photo. I have done
this before and all worked just fine. Not so this time!!

40ufd- 2 red wires with white stripes
40ufd-2 red wires with black stripes and one side of R81 1.5k 1 watt
resistor
40ufd-Brown wire from pin 2 of V16
60ufd-3 red wires and the other side of R81 1.5k 1 watt resistor and one
side of R53 2k 10 w resistor

I am assuming all 180's would more than likely have the same colored
wires as mine. Although I could be wrong as well. I will wait until this
weekend to start tracing wires so I can do it all in one day instead of
a few nights in a row. Hopefully the new replacement can cap arrives and
I can hook it all up again. Photos or verbal verification that my hookup
I listed above is either wrong or right would be a better sense of
failure or success Im hoping. Can anyone give me a helping hand?

Thanks-Bob-W0YBS
