Mark,

Or, your IF frequency is centered around 440kHz instead of 455kHz, 
you would have an image at +880kHz instead of +910kHz. I would 
begin the alignment process with finding the crystal filter center 
frequency, and peaking the IF from there. Then see where the image 
falls.

Conard's point should be the next focus of your alignment, making 
sure the Ant, RF and Osc tracking is on-target. AND, make sure 
you're not peaking on the IMAGE, hi!
