[Hammarlund] Alignment of Sp600-JX-17

I am about to start my first alignment of a  SP600-JX-17.  I have a good frequency generator and power output meter.
Would someone please advise me things I need to pay attention too. The radio works I hear AM radio but it is in the  wrong band, I have know history of the radio, when I received the unit it  did not receive, you Gus help me find  the problem, I have checked tube voltages and everything seams to be in reasonable order. Am I ready to align or do I need to go back in to the receiver.
