No, of course not. It's just a rhetorical way of getting people to select
their favorite receiver.

I have a soft place in my heart for an S-20R, a notoriously mediocre
receiver, just because I had so many thrills with mine when I was a kid.
I've lately been thinking of building a simple receiver, just because I get
such a kick out of getting something I built to work, however poorly. But
then it's fun to think about having a receiver that's one of the best ever! 

~ I have owned / repaired many, and even though I love my R-390, if I had to
have only ONE radio to function as a band-cruiser, it would be an SP-600
hands down.

Ok, score one for the SP-600!
