I have received many private enquires, so I'll post this:

QR codes are the modern version of bar codes. I'll send you a couple of links. You can type whatever info you want into an online (free) site and print the QR code generated out on adhesive paper. Of course companies like Avery would like to sell you a box of blank adhesive labels, which I admit, may be more convenient.

Anybody with a camera phone or iPod with a camera can decode the information instantly.
