[Hammarlund] HQ140 - really *LOW* sensitivity

Check resistor R3 on pin 6 of V2. It's supposed to be 2.2K. I had a
National NC-98 with a similar problem. The screen grid resistor on the
RF amp was WAY higher than it was supposed to be. It made the receiver
very insensitive. Replacement really woke it up. The resistor was a
simple carbon comp type and visually it looked brand new. Love old
carbon comps. Richard's suggestion about the bandswitch is also a good
one. Hope this helps...

I noticed when I bring my hand near the antenna trimmer cap, the sensitivity comes way up. If I touch the trimmer cap, the radio really comes alive to the point where I think it's working as it should (if it would only stay like that). The local 50KW station almost pegs the S meter.
