[Hammarlund] Hammarlund HX-500 problems

Everything Chuck says here is absolutely correct. So...do them.

Also, and in addition, I have found both electrolytic caps and diodes 
LABELED backwards from the manufacturer.

If you haven't got shorted turns in the transformer, then I would almost bet 
that you have installed at least one of the replacement caps backwards.
