I didn't see it mentioned.  Sometimes, if you put a narrow soldering iron tip (when hot) down the hole, making sure that you don't damage the knob, for a few moments will get the setscrew loose.

I will use the penetrating fluid longer this time.  I will soak the knobs for a few days and report back.  Stay tuned.
