Richard Knoppow hit the nail on the head. The clock movement is held in
place by a thin piece of plastic. The second hand is on top and one
movement of the second hand moves the minute hand. The minute hand drives
the hour hand. I used a thin needle nose pliers to tighten the plastic
holding the hands on the shaft. The problem is once the minute hand caught
up with the hour hand the hour hand became loose again.
I will need to get a lighted magnifier to see if its possible to separate
the hour and minute hand and tighten up again at that point. There is no
problem with the timing shaft as the second and minute keep good time.
The clock went on many Hammarlund receivers. In 1964, Bill Belknap, the
marketing guy at Mars Hill told me the number of clocks sold had passed
12,000. Each receiver sold with a clock came with a little brochure.
If someone has the brochure please let me know. I will buy a copy.
