    In many clocks the hands are held to the shafts by 
friction. The hands have a split tube that fits over the 
shaft. Its possible one side of the split has broken off. If 
its intact just squeeze it a bit with small pliers.  If the 
shaft itself is loose its likely its come loose from 
whatever gear drives it.  I think these are standard 
electric clock movements so you may be able to find a 
similar one at a swap meet and fit it into the case for the 
receiver.
