Well, I have just finished recapping the SP-600 JX-14 that you folks have been helping me with over the last few months.

Today, I replaced the one .01 cap in the T-1 pod. It entailed a lot of disassembly but wasn't too difficult. I'm glad I replaced this cap. I checked its resistance with a battery-powered DMM and got a resistance of 4 Meg. Imagine what the leakage was under full voltage! Most of the caps that I pulled out of the RF deck weren't this bad.  My next steps are: (1) alignment; and (2) cosmetic work on the front panel, such as filling in the lettering.

I have a couple of questions:

1. What tool do you use for alignment? The insulated alignment tools I have are sort of crappy.

2. Are there any downsides to doing the audio mods set forth in the SP-600 Anthology?

Finally, thank you all for the help you gave me in steering me through this project. I started with a non-working project set and now have a fully-fuctional receiver that is a dream to operate.
