    Thanks Carl, that's the way I have it.  Checked all 
bands using another receiver to make sure the LO was in the 
right place. Something else going on. The receiver is almost 
perfect and I would like to find what is causing this just 
to satisfy myself.  Any hints are welcome.
    These are really amazing receivers considering the age 
and that they were intended to be medium-priced sets.
