Bob
I just re finished a 180 cabinet and found a RustOleum Painters Touch "Dark
Gray" that I found extremely good match for the cabinet
I did not do the ring as all I furnished was a cabinet for a naked receiver.
I tested by overspraying several areas of the cabinet before stripping it
and aside from the new gloss the color blended right in
After a little buffing the overspray disappeared, it was that close.
Of course, that cabinet at this time and place---YMMV
I got the paint at a farm store for about $4 a can. The 180 cabinet took two
cans to complete inside and out.
PS The old factory finish was toughest I ever had to strip and best results
(least work) were obtained with Citristrip Gel from WalMart. It is very
thick, a little spreads a long way and it stays active for a very long
time.It alsohas a pleasant citrus odor. Don't let the pleasant fool you
though, get a speck on your arm and it will eat through your skin. Don't ask
how I know this.
