[Hammarlund] HQ-140X questiom

HI Dan!

     Can't speak to your particular radio, but Hammarlunds in general 
track very closely.  Usually this situation is caused by either somebody 
else having been there, trying to align the receiver with a generator 
that's not calibrated, and fudged with the tuning cap in an attempt to 
get it to track, or the generator you're using is not calibrated 
correctly.  You can also have fixed padder/trimmer caps in the receiver 
itself that are out of tolerance and they will cause this.  The fixed 
cap problem usually only shows up on ONE band.  If all the bands are out 
at the same time and the sections of all the bands are in the same 
general place on the dial, suspect your tuning cap or your generator.
