One of the biggest problems for us today is the availability of TC caps.
They
are very difficult to find in any quantity or variety now.

The rule of thumb is to start with a N-750 cap that is 10% the value of the
circuit C (fixed and variable), if you overshoot then reduce the value. Its
not hard to find low value N-750's and play the series/parallel game. Since
there is no DC in the circuit and RF volatges are low that opens up the
choices. Ive often found a 3-5pf N-750 to get me where Im happy on the
higher bands.
Low value 5KV RF doorknobs are often N-750 and of no use most anywhere else
so the prices are cheap.....a little bulky but available.
