[Hammarlund] HQ-110C serial number *&%$*&*&%$!!!!

Thanks fellows.

The serial number on my gifted HQ-110C was almost exactly where Dan told me it might be: 
stamped between the "S" meter adjust and the antenna connectors.

However, some total ***hole had drilled a hole for a 1/4" phone jack right in the center of the 
number, and had covered up what he didn't drill out with the jack and a wide washer.

Removing that I find the numbers 1*7, or 1**7 stamped into the metal (not inked). I am not 
sure if the space where the hole is has enough room for two numbers or only one, but I 
suspect only one.

Crap! :-(

I am NOT pleased.
