[Hammarlund] SP-600 Electronic Dial

To make it a wee bit less kludgy, I mounted a very small perf board
vertically on the side of the central RF box. On the perf board is a single
RCA jack that I connect to my AADE freq display.

customer)

The RCA jack has a single wire that goes into the tube shield on the 6C4.
My SP-600 is mounted in a rack with stuff above it, but I managed to take a
picture of what I did.

You can almost make out the black wire coming from the left-hand tube shield
(6C4) and connecting to a 2 position block. Then behind the board that
connects to the center of the RCA. You can also see the green wire grounding
the outer conductor of the RCA. That same screw holds the board to the side
of the RF box.

The whole set up lets me connect/disconnect the AADE (disconnected at the
moment) with a little less sense of kludge.

AADE also sells a way to connect to the radio. Similar to my idea (but
nicer) See here:

BTW: my AADE is not LCD, it is VFD! I may be the only person that has one
like it! I don't think they sold any others. Its VERY cool. Here's a photo
or two:

Miles:

I have used one I bought several years ago with several tube-type receivers
and transceivers: the coupling method must be very carefully worked out,
depending on the rig, and so far it has been different for each one.

Coupling to a metal sleeve over the oscillator tube has worked, but I don't
like that method any better than you do. I view it as a kludge also.
